      I.        It could be used for revision purpose
II.        It helps in recharging writer’s memory
III.        It helps to maintain good auditory perception
IV.        It will further sharpen ones brain
    V.        It could be helpful in writing skill
   VI.        It aids comprehension
VII.        It servers as future asset

Method of note taking
Pay total attention
Sit properly and comfortably
Legible writing

Note Making
Note Making -production: a noteworthy test!
There are numerous circumstances, be that as it may, in which note-production can be a genuine test, for instance if:
the substance of the address is overwhelmingly truthful and you need to attempt to record the greater part of the truths yet the speaker is experiencing it truly rapidly
you make notes from masses of foundation perusing, however are then stayed with how to utilize it all
you make loads of notes for a bit of composing, yet then stress over how to evade incidentally copying, as you can't recollect which thoughts were your own particular and which were from existing sources
you discover perusing scholarly papers and books moderate, and learn about that you miss on the general feeling of an article on the grounds that you invest a lot of energy composing nitty gritty notes as you read through it
Contrasts between note-production in addresses and when perusing
You may have an arrangement of address slides before you, yet you will at present need to make your own particular notes in addresses. Additional slides may be included; and the teacher will perpetually offer more clarification and samples than show up on the slides. You will likewise need to record any thoughts or inquiries you could call your own that you have amid the address.

Horrific mobile phone video recovered from Germanwings wreckage reveals moment scared passengers knew they were going to die

Harrowing mobile phone footage taken on board the doomed Germanwings flight has recorded the devastating moment that screaming passengers knew they were going to die, it has been claimed.
The video, reportedly found amid the wreckage of last week's crash, allegedly captures the sound of terrified passengers crying 'Oh God' as the plane plunged into the French Alps, killing all 150 people on board. The clip, said to be just a few seconds long, was reportedly taken from a memory card which was found at the crash scene by a source close to the investigation.

According to two European newspapers who claim to have seen the footage, cries of 'oh God' can be heard in several different languages as chaos breaks out inside the cabin.
They also describe the sound of metallic banging from inside the aircraft. Both papers suggest the bangs could be the sound of the frantic captain attempting to break open the cockpit door with an axe or metal object, as Andreas Lubitz set the aircraft onto a collision course into the mountain.
German daily Bild and French magazine Paris Match said their reporters were shown the video after it was found on a memory chip that could have come from a mobile phone inside the aircraft.
It comes as Paris Match also published a conversation between Lubitz and the captain which was transcribed from one of aircraft's black boxes by a special investigator, which suggested Lubitz had urged the captain to leave him alone in the cockpit.
Lieutenant Colonel Jean-Marc Menichini, a high ranking official involved in the recovery operation, categorically denied that any mobile phone footage had been found by investigators at the site.
But Paris Match said the footage, thought to have been filmed from the rear of the plane, was found 'among the wreckage by a source close to the investigation'.
Bild, which described the scene as 'chaotic, totally blurred and completely shaky', also insisted that the accuracy of the video 'is beyond question'.
According to Paris Match, cries of 'My God' can be heard in several languages, before three metallic bangs ring out. They added that the footage captures the plane shaking heavily, before the screaming 'intensifies'.
Bild added that the aircraft appears to be touching a mountain, as more screams are heard. The camera then cuts out.
Both papers say the footage supports the idea that the passengers 'knew what desperate situation they were in'. It added that no individuals could be identified.
Although the two publications described the video in detail, neither posted the footage.
Bild said it was just 'a few seconds' and that it is not clear whether a passenger or crew member had filmed it.

Closure of LASU illegal, says ASUU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Lagos State University chapter has faulted the closure of the university allegedly on the orders of the Vice- Chancellor, Prof. John Obafunwa.
The school management last Monday asked both workers and students to vacate the institution until further notice, citing the ongoing elections in the country as an excuse.
But LASU-ASUU, in a statement obtained by our correspondent on Monday, claimed that the “forcible closure’ was illegal.
The chapter Chairman and his Secretary, Dr. Adekunle Idris, and Dr. Wale Adeyemi, respectively signed the statement.
According to them, the VC has no legal right to shut down the ivory tower.
The action of the VC, they added, would disrupt the academic calendar of the institution.
Parts of the statement read, “The union would like to state unequivocally that the open-ended recess announced for the sake of elections is not only unwarranted and disruptive to the academic calendar, it is equally illegal and therefore invalid as the vice-chancellor under the guise of the university management, has no authority within the LASU Laws to declare such.
“The shutting down of activities in the university, when other institutions are undertaking academic activities, is an act of impunity that will adversely affect our students – the main purpose for which the university exists.
“By law, only the Senate of LASU has the prerogative to adjust the academic calendar and declare a recess. The Senate has not done this. By practice, it is only the Visitor and Governor through the instrumentality of the Governing Council that can shut down the school for the purpose of election. That is the position of the law. The union condemns this current aberration in strong terms.

Parents of  15 year-old girl Precious Nwaigwe, who was kidnapped in Lagos by some Niger-based kidnappers on Sunday May 25th last year have revealed how a relation of theirs connived with some the kidnappers to kidnap their daughter and sell her to some pimps in Libya.

Speaking with  Punch, Blessing Nwaigwe, Precious's mother said the police have arrested a relation of theirs who worked with the kidnappers...
“The person that has just been arrested is one of our relatives. He is my cousin’s child and is currently with SARS. When we got his contact sometime in September last year from the kidnappers, we did not know he was the one because they gave us a different name. So, his family and our family had a meeting and he was invited to the meeting to resolve the issue. It was during the meeting that the police arrested him.
The suspect said the girl was no longer with him. He told the police investigators that after he was paid N250,000, he released the girl to another person who took her to Libya.”
Blessing, a student of the Ikenne Community College in Ikenne Ogun state had come to Lagos to spend the holidays with her father at his home in Ajah and was on her way back to school when she was kidnapped.

Her Father, Okoro Nwadile, while recounting how his daughter was kidnapped, said he placed her in a commercial bus that would take her to back to school and unknown to him, the bus was filled with kidnappers. He said days later, he got a call from the school, inquiring why she had not resumed. He said this was followed by a call from the kidnappers demanding for $100,000 ransom or they would make Sarah work for them so she can pay her ransom.

The case was reported at the Ajah Police Division from where it was transferred to the Anti-Robbery Squad in Ikeja. A police source who spoke on the recent developments in the case, confirmed that Blessing who was initially taken to Niger has been transferred to Libya.

“The girl is no more in the Niger Republic. She has been taken to Libya and the police have arrested one of those involved in the kidnap. The new suspect told us that the girl was no longer in his custody because she had been sold to some people suspected to be pimps in Libya.” the police source said

Photos: Students protest alleged attempted rape in FUTO

Students, especially the female ones of Federal University of Technology, Owerri are currently protesting the alleged rape or attempted rape (conflicting stories) of a student of the school by C-in-C Man O War FUTO.

According to a student who reached out to LIB, she said the victim had gone out to urinate at night when a member of the Man O War approached her to say that the C-in-C (commander in chief) was calling her. Details are sketchy but according to the source, the lady went back to her room to tell her roommates that this person wanted to see her. They advised her to go only for her to return later with tears, saying someone had raped her or attempted to rape her.

This morning, students of the school matched to the Senate asking the school authority to investigate. See more photos from the protest after the cut...
