The Special Assistant to Governor
Ayodele Fayose on Information, Youth and Sports, Mr. Lanre Ogunsuyi, has
said the outcome of the Saturday’s election signalled the end of the
All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State.
The Peoples Democratic Party won all the three senatorial districts and the six House of Representatives seats in the state.
Ogunsuyi, who spoke in Ado Ekiti on
Monday, said the election results proved that the June 21 governorship
election won by Fayose was not rigged as claimed.
“It is now confirmed to whoever is still
doubting whether Fayose is indeed a super political champion that the
man is more than that, he is also a rare breed.
“In the same token, the outcome of
Saturday’s National Assembly election, which made the PDP candidates to
defeat all the candidates of APC in both the Senate and House of
Representatives, including all the incumbents, shows that all negative
claims about June 21, 2014 governorship poll, existed only in the
imagination of those that faulted the outcome,” he said.
Ogunsuyi boasted that the PDP would repeat the same feat on April 11 in the State House of Assembly election.
“We don’t want a type of State Assembly that will be antagonistic of the governor and cause distractions for him.
“We already have problems with the
current Assembly, and we do not want a repeat of that. We also do not
want a 13-13 scenario as we were all living witnesses to its attendant
negative effects in the past,” he added.
Thanking the people for their support to
Fayose, he assured that the governor would justify the confidence
reposed in him by bringing unprecedented dividends of democracy to the
citizens.
