Following his recent revival, Super
Eagles and West Brom Albion striker Brown Ideye has moved up by 51 spots
in the English Premier League players’ ranking in one month.
The 26-year-old striker became the
Baggies’ record signing when they paid £10m to sign him from Dynamo
Kiev, but after he scored only twice in 14 EPL appearances, the Baggies
were set to sell him to Qatar club Al Gharafa in January but for their
failure to get a replacement for him.
Ideye, whose fortune began to look up
late January, has risen in the EPL ranking and is currently 45th best
striker in the league and 239th overall up from his position in February
– 290th overall and 56th striker.
He was outstanding on Saturday scoring
the winner for West Brom in their 1-0 win over Stoke City at the
Hawthorns. It was his fourth goal in the EPL and seventh in the season.
Despite his rise, Ideye is still five
points behind Liverpool’s underperforming Mario Balotelli and 10 points
Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor.
Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, Chelsea’s Diego
Costa and Tottenham’s Harry Kane, are the top three best strikers in
the EPL in that order.
