Oshiomhole suspends Edo LG boss, ‎sets up panel

The Edo State Government has suspended the Chairman of Owan West Local Government Area of the state, Mr. Godwin Agbodion, over charges of "monetary fumble" and "other managerial abnormalities."

The State Governor, Adams Ohiomhole, reported the suspension on Wednesday while tending to individuals from the Local Government Executive Council and Councilors on Wednesday at the Government House in Benin.

Oshiomhole clarified that Agbodion's suspension took after "arrangement" of cases irritating on "managerial inadequacy, poor administration, redirection of open stores, non-installment of pay rates and rupture of obtainment methodology against the Chairman of Owan West Local Government."

‎He included that a four-man board of trustees of enquiry had been set up in accordance with Section 20, Sub-area 11 of the Local Government Law, as revised, to explore the claims, asking the suspended LG director to "stay far from the premises of the neighborhood government" preceding the beginning of examination.

Oshiomhole said, "We have attempted in the past to call the director to have a decent meeting expectations association with his Executives. We have chosen to set up a panel of enquiry to explore these claims, both monetary and non-money related, and in the procurements of the proper enactments of the Local Government law, I have chosen to practice the forces vested in me to suspend the Chairman amid this period, for the advisory group to research all the affirmations and present the report to me.
